NEWS, UPDATES & LEA'S LIST
I'm an early riser. It's my favorite part of the day. It's still dark outside, I'm finishing up my 3rd cup of coffee and my quiet time has ended. I need to start dragging boys out of bed for school. I've a few things I need to tell you about and then, as promised, I'll give you Lea's list of "things she'd like me to whisper in her ear."

  1. Let's go out to dinner and a movie tonight.
  2. How about a back rub?
  3. Let's get some ice cream and go watch the sunset out in the country.
  4. Give me a list of chores.
  5. Pack your bags! We're going on a cruise!
  6. Let's use our tax return to by a new refrigerator.
  7. I'm cooking and cleaning up the kitchen tonight.
  8. Let's paint something.
  9. I love you.
  10. I've got us tickets to the night race at Bristol, baby!

PS: Trey does great with most all of these, but I'm still waiting for 5, 6 & 10 :) (Maybe we should start playing the lottery or something)

On weekend posting...

I do it ... mostly because I'm in the habit of daily blogging and it's hard not to post on the weekends.

I try to let my weekend posts be extra-light, but if something's on my mind I do not avoid something more serious.

I always expect for less people to read...and usually this is so.

I believe the people who like my blog will, next time they visit, scroll down to see if they missed anything.

So blog away, brother!

You're an early bird eh? I am trying to retrain myself in that direction. What time do you get up?

billy wilson is good. I heard him while in arkansas. i still have the cassette of his message about the problem of pain/evil, it was problem the best lesson I have heard on that topic.

Thanks John for the advice. I'll take any I can get on blogging. I like the idea of "light on the weekend."

Brian... Billy is a fireball. He spent a week with us last year here in Childress. I hated to see him go. I love listening to "good" preaching and he is what I call "good" preaching. Maybe some preachers just have a way of challenging, encouraging and touching certain people.

I enjoy joy your blogs. I always look on Saturday and Sunday, just in case. What a surprise this past weekend to have extra blogs.

#10 just made me love Lea!!

I read on weekends if I am the computer, but I am not a captive audience like I am during the week. It is fairly easy to click over on blog-lines while something is processing to see who has posted.....

I think John is right, that people will check to see if they missed anything, if they weren't able to read your blog over the weekend. You might get fewer comments, as sometimes we don't like to comment on old posts. :) But it is a nice treat to see a new post if you happen to get on the computer over the weekend! So I say blog if something comes to mind!

I try to read on the weekends. Sometimes I need extra encouragement on those days.
Trey, I know I haven't told you this yet, but I so appreciate your posts. They are thought provoking and encouraging. Your blog is so user friendly and exciting. Mine is pretty blah but it is a great place to e-journal anyway. So, I vote, if you have time, brother, blog away.
Peace and prayers,
Neva

Trey- tell Lea her #10 needs a little improvement!

I've got us tickets to the night race at Bristol, baby! And Jeff and Sandi are going with us! ;)

Love y'all!!

Your comment made me laugh - big time!

I am new to blogging and so maybe I missed some etiquette or the form. My impression is it is to share ideas and discussion. In looking at others over the last year, some are a journal format, others are a running dialogue. One of the blogs I read for sometime had a post and then there was a discussion that might go over three or four days. How you choose to blog and how often is up to you as far as I know. I try to look at your blog regularly and enjoy the humor and also the serious topics you tackle. Thanks for your emphasis on family and issues that are real to life.

James ... I'm not sure I know which "James" this is, but I'm glad you've stopped by. I'm also glad to know you've been hanging out here occasionally. Thanks for the kind words.

by the way, I thought I was really going to like Lea until I saw her #10!! Oh well. I'm sure we could find other things in common. :)

Neva, your blog is not blah!! I meant to tell you that the other day. I like going to it. Your words make up for any other "stuff" you think you're missing.

I agree with Lisa ... I like Neva's blog. The material is top notch.

Trey,
I always love your posts and you have the best comments around. I will check your blog on the weekend, although, I am not big on doing anything but church and family on Sundays. However, I love the encouragement when the kids are sick and I have to stay at home.
As you noticed, I let Josh have the Saturday entry as a reward for his Bible reading. It lets him play an active part. He loves the comments he has received.
Lea, I say ditto to your list, but what is Bristol?

Lea ... like Kathy, I need some clarification on one of your things. #1 on your list, you didn't specify where ... would the Deuce be okay?

;)

At 3:28 PM, Blogger The Preacher's Household: said...

Trey,
Unlike me, I think you know the answer to that. Good try anyway and good luck.

Trey,

Sorry I didn't log in to say who James is. Kathy is funny isn't she? Lea didn't specify so go for it. See what you get.

Trey,
I read blogs on the weekend. Sometimes I go back and read something I missed or if someone posts something new I get it. Saturdays are one of my blog's bussiest days for some reason...maybe I just have a wierd group of readers! Like you, I usually post during the week (mon, wed and Fri) but I do make a rare blog or two on a weekend. But, I will tell you this; unlike someI know, I do NOT post to numbers. I think when we start doing that we loose sight of what we are doing. I could care less if I am the fastest growing blog or the slowest; as long as one person reads it I will continue to write it.
Great post brother!
Bobby

Who's Bobby talking about???? Hmmmm?

At 9:36 PM, Anonymous Lisa said...

I think I noticed that Bobby has a little icon on his blog that proudly brags what rating he got on "Christian Blogs." :P

Is it okay to tease Bobby?

At 9:42 PM, Blogger Bobby Cohoon said...

I actualy didn't put that on my site; someone added me to their blog list and they put it there. But, this IS NOT the place to play this out.

At 6:46 AM, Blogger Trey Morgan said...

Kathy ... Bristol is one of the most exciting NASCAR rases of the NASCAR season. She and I are big fans.

Bobby ... I understand exactally about the "why" post and not for the hits. At the same time, it's nice to know someone is looking. I think there is a balance in there somewhere.

At 8:04 AM, Anonymous Lisa said...

Trey, I meant to mention earlier that we live about an hour away from Bristol. You be sure & let me know if you guys ever head up this way!!

At 8:24 AM, Blogger Trey Morgan said...

Lisa ... wow. That is too cool. I'd love to make a Bristol race one of these days. Lea and I for our 15th wedding ann. spent a few days in Richmond and watched the NASCAR race at Richmond Internatial Raceway. Is that redneck or what! :)
