THE FIRST BIKE RIDE

Okay, so I did a good job teaching Cooper (age 5) how to ride his bike, BUT I forgot to teach him a very important part .... how to use the brakes and stop. Oops!

Lea and I laughed so hard at this video. Does that make us bad parents?

Oh my goodness! I am laughing so hard that I am snorting. I have watched this three times. Poor little man. You are not bad parents because I would bet that he will always remember how to brake from that day forward. It is always the head on crashes in life that teach us best. Thanks for sharing. And you may want to send this in to funniest home videos!!!

It only makes you a bad parent to laugh if you don't also make sure their ok! I would have been laughing too! Just like when I laughed the other day when my husband kicked my son's bed on the way out of his room :) (the bed's been in the same place for years by the way :) I did make sure he was ok too! But after I laughed!!

Great video. Hopefully Cooper will laugh, too, in years to come.

How old is he? Our son learned to ride a bike without training wheels when he was 4. Not a good idea. He went to areas of Garland, TX, that we had not intended he go, and without us knowing about it until later. Grateful to God that He was looking after Jim, since we didn't do too good a job that time.

Funny stuff. I didn't show the part that after he smashed the shed he was mad that I hadn't told him how to stop.

Since then Cooper has watched this a dozen times and just laughed.

Thanks for laughing with us.

Bless his heart! That's funny though. Good thing the shed is there or who knows where he'd be by now :)

Too funny! You will still laugh even when he is grown and has children of his own. It is okay that you didn't teach him to stop---the shed did! :)

When Lisa was about 5, she walked into the church building for services (Wed night I think) and one of the ladies who had a daughter a year younger noticed scabs on Lisa's knees. She immediately looked at me and said, "Teaching Lisa to ride a bike this week?" I started to ask how she knew and then saw Lisa's knees and knew immediately how she knew. Life is tough and the things we want to learn to do are tough. But once you learn them, oh the fun we can have.

I can't get the clip to come up on this computer, but I can guess what happened and I would have laughed too.

At Kobi's 1st birthday party, I loaded Josh onto our rollar coaster ride on toy, told him to keep his head down and feet on the side so he'll go extra fast, and gave him a hard push. With all family watching he hit head on into Mom's Explorer. I really wished I had put a helmet on him. He did a great job following my instructions but we changed them to abort when we yell "Look up!"

Hilarious clip! My son is 2 and I can't wait for that to get a video like that one! Does that make me a bad parent?
