STUFF I'M THINKING RIGHT NOW
- I'm thinking that I love Sundays. Yesterday was an awesome day. God was worshipped, the church building was packed, visitors were present and the singing was fabulous. Now, if we could just figure out a way to get the preaching to improve. :)
Some religious blogs are, "...too immersed in the spiritual realm, blah, blah, blah."
- I'm thinking that I don't know how or why my blog was reviewed over at Blog-Search-Engine.com this week, but I sure appreciate their kind words. I thought it was cool that TreyMorgan.net is currently being listed as a feature blog. I did get a chuckle out of the part that said some religious blogs are, "...too immersed in the spiritual realm, blah, blah, blah."
- I'm thinking that the testosterone was thick Thursday night at the For Men Only Garage Bible study. I had 14 men show up and a few call and say they couldn't make it, but would be there next week. We're studying about Samson and learning from his mistakes; how to be real men. I did have a couple of Mandles burning just to give the garage a manly smell. :)
- I'm thinking that I'm excited about the Morgan family going to Dallas this weekend. We're going to catch a Texas Ranger game Friday night and do a little relaxing on Saturday. Then on Sunday I'm preaching at the Lakeside Church of Christ in Mansfield, Texas. Mine and Lea's former youth minister, Shawn Williams, is the preacher there. Shawn had a big influence on Lea and I when we were in high school. I'm always a little nervous around Shawn, because he knew me when I was a teenager, and I'm sure he could tell everyone a couple of bad things I've done (smile). Lea is safe though, she was as perfect back then as she is today!
- I'm thinking I'm sad for Evan today. Evan is one of our high school seniors at church and spends quite a bit of time at my house. Last night Evan took a turn on a dirt road a little too quickly and wound up wrecking his pickup. Evan was fine but the truck was not. I went and helped him pull his pickup out of the ditch. I hurt for Evan last night. It's never easy having to tell your mom and dad you wrecked your vehicle (I know, I've been there). Evan, is a regular reader of this blog, so I'd like to say to him, "Hang in there buddy, it's going to be okay."
How about leaving Evan a word of encouragement today? He could use it!

The game will be fun if it is warm and sunny, as I am not a cold weather ball fan.
Evan,
I pray that you feel the presence of God in your life and may he strengthen you with all power. Know that material things are temperal but your soul brother is eternal. I think God has a purpose for your life! Listen to these words in Psalm 103, "Praise the Lord, O my sou; all my inmost being, praise his holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits- who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, and crowns you with love and compassion, who satisfies your desires who good things so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's." I pray that God's blessings, all of his richest blessings fall on every aspect of your life. Evan- have a blessed week!
Thanks Trey, My parents we not as hard on me as i thought they would be. Dad was a little dissapointed and mom was mad because she has told me several times to slow down and not go so fast......and im sorry i tried to give you that 30 mph story trey it was probably 60-65.Sorry thing is its almost time to get Dustin to get a truck and i hope i don't set that back....preacherman thanks for you kind words it does make me feel alot better.
Evan, glad you are ok! a truck can be replace, you can not be!
take care!
Evan,
Tell Trey to give you his truck! It is too big for him anyway! :)
Just kidding! I'm glad that your parents weren't too hard on you about it. While driving back to Nashville after Thanksgiving in Birmingham, I fell asleep (stupid turkey!) and totaled the '83 Ford Courier my parents found for me. I was okay (whacked my elbow so hard I thought it was broken, but that's about it), but totally embarrassed that my parents had to come and get me.
Trey, have fun at the game, it's interesting how you are going to preach at a different church, Actualy I am all for preachers mixing it up and going to different Churchs once in awhile!
COCNET.US is getting close to 10,000 hits in April, I am very satisfied! :) God Bless!

Trey,
I wanted to stop by and tell you that the link is finally fixed on the sight.
Thaks,
Tom
Hey Trey,
Congrats on being the feature blog at Blogger search. You are being quite modest as usual (wink wink)and so I want to post my favorite part of the review. To Quote: "If you thought that preachers were not human, try visiting this blog. If more preachers were like Trey Morgan, perhaps more people would be inclined to give church a try."
I totally agree. Keep up the good work my brother. You truly are one of a kind.
Evan,
Sorry about the truck. I too totalled a car once. It was a brand new Neon that I purchased and it was only three months old when I totalled it in an accident on a winter morning. The weather was definitely a factor, but so was my own stupidity. I was thankful that I wasn't hurt and walked away dissappointed that I now had to learn to walk again. Lol. So, I understand your predicament. But, I agree with the earlier comment that your truck can be replaced, but you cannot. By the way, I have had many other cars since. Keep the faith brother, God has good things in store for you.
Blessings to both of you today.
Oh and Trey, I also love Sundays too, they're awesome!! :)
I like how you think Trey...and I really enjoy Sundays as well. I'll be praying for you and your family to have a blast this weekend.
Evan - sorry about the accident, but I'm glad you're ok...my mom still tells me to slow down - it's good advice from a lady who loves me very much. I'm sure it's the same with you...
Trey - Featured blog, eh? Way to go. I must say that your blog is too good to pass up!
Your "For Men Only Garage Bible Study" is a great idea. May I send some men your way?
-----------------------------------
Evan, it will all work out eventually. It will. An accident is just that - an accident. Everyone makes mistakes. We've all been there at one time or another. You are not the first teen to have an accident, nor will you be the last.
The very best part is that you weren't hurt!!!!! Hang in there.
~Solo
Evan - been there, done that (a few times) parents get over it. Years later they will even laugh (and so will you). They're parents, they have to love you know matter what. They can be mad, but they still love you. They are probably just elated you are safe!
Evan,
Even though you may not feel it right now, you are fortunate:
1. You are fortunate that it was only your truck that was wrecked.
2. You are fortunate that you have a friend like Trey to help you pull it out of the ditch.
3. You are fortunate that you have a mom and dad to tell that bad piece of news.
4. You are fortunate that your Heavenly Father's hand was upon you.
Now, you may not actually feel all that fortunate right now. But you will in time as you reflect back on this while zipping down the road in your repainted truck.
Be careful out there.
~Kevin
Evan, glad to hear that you're okay! But, knowing that you're old enough to drive (and a senior in high school!) makes me feel old. I remember when I moved to Childress, you were about 6 years old! Say hello to your family for me.
Blessings,
Jeff Foster
Evan ... there's a lot of wisdom here for you. Read it all. Oh, and also ... slow down! :)
Trey, I think your Garage Bible Study is an excellent idea. Way to go!
Enjoy that Rangers game. I'd love to be there with you!
Evan, we had a funeral last Monday for a young man your age (high school senior) who died in an auto accident. I'm thankful you were spared the fate of Kelly. Be thankful to God for each day, ok?
hey trey, like the new blog "front" also wanted to say. . evan, sad to wreck the car, i did it more than once in high school. . once i was ditching school and the cops had to call my mom and wake her up (it was like 730am). . . so, ya know. . . hang in there and think, it could be worse :)
Hi Trey,
I think your blog is pretty cool. Lots of interesting posts. I like the friendly and warm way you share stuff. I'm new to blogging but I've seen a few Christian blogs where the authors seem so angry..haha
Trey - yours is one of my "every-day-gotta-read" blogs, though I don't often comment. Congrats on the Featured Blog status - well deserved! And they're right - if more preachers were like you, more people would probably come to church. Way to go!
