SUMMER FUN
We've had a great week of hanging out in the mountains. It was nice to see a lot of friends at the Red River Family Encampment that we haven't seen in a while. We spent the week just relaxing, laughing, hiking, fishing, playing games and playing baseball.
Our VBS starts this Sunday night, so I've got some last minute details to finish up. Last year it was a little crazy when we had over 400 for VBS, and I'm honestly hoping we're down a little on those numbers this year :) (Childress folks, bring me your kids this Sunday - Wednesday from 7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.)
Besides VBS, over the next few weeks we'll do a week of camp at QMCC, a little more vacationing (would love to catch a couple more Ranger's games) and take a trip to Honduras.
I hope in the next day or so to post a few pictures of our trip to the mountains.

eating, sleeping, going to the pool, getting together with alani's little friends and gestating. . . my plans? i'm thinking I'll have a baby this summer :) Did your week at camp go as quickly as our week here in UT went? I feel like you were home in the blink of an eye!
Welcome home!
We have stayed close to home so far. Hope to take some day trips soon. I don't want to be too far away since Mom doesn't have any other kids around if she needs help. That's okay, because I enjoy everyday I have her.
We took a quick trip to the mountains to camp a couple of days. Since my wife, son, and I are the funeral directors of our own mortuary, it's very difficult to get away for any length of time. Hopefully we will get away a couple more weekends but if not, we'll just enjoy the pool in the backyard.
I have pretty much been doing youth ministry without getting paid all summer (story of my life!) ;), but having a BLAST with these kids through Encounter, VBS, service projects, times of worship, and other great times!! Cheered on the Rangers last night, leaving to take some kids to Arkansas tomorrow and stay with them a few days at their camp, while trying to put things into motion to head back to China in a little over a month!! Craziness!!
Sounds like you are having a great summer! Hey, if you decide to come in and go to another Ranger game-let me know, I might want to tag along with you guys! Did you know they have $25 all you can eat seats?! Awesome!!! ;)
Oh, and I am aching to head to the cool and tall trees of the mountains!! This heat is about to eat me alive!! ;)
Welcome Back.
So far the highlight of our ( wife and I ) summer was attending the White Sox vs Cub game at US Cellular Park, and watching the White Sox beat Carlos Zambrano.
Church wise ,some of our teens went to Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota for a week of cleaning, feeding and praying. so very proud of them!
