I think Jesus is very sad at what Amazing Grace is choosing to spend their time and energy doing... Bless us all....

I just want some overalls like the pastor was wearing.

I'm not quite sure what to say in response to that video. I think I still in shock that someone could believe that the KJV is "authorized version for English speaking people" and all other versions should be burned. Does that mean that translations for non-English speakers should be made from KJV and not the Greek or Hebrew manuscripts?

I am lost for words...Anyone else find the name of the church "amazing grace" Ironic? It reminds me of a quote from the "Jesus Freak" album by DC Talk: "The single greatest cause of atheism is Christians, who praise him with their lips and deny him by their lifestyle. THAT is what an unbelieving world simply finds so unbelievable."

ummm..........wow!

Sounds like they are spending a lot of time, effort and energy on what not to do. You addresses something similar recently...

Ok...we can do something about this! We can pray that their eyes will be opened.

Sad, sad, sad!

Will they be burning blogs?

Maybe misled, but not stupid. They're sincerely wrong though. Good point there Gallagher, "will they be burning blogs too?"

At 7:03 PM, Blogger Angie said...

"Misquoting Jesus" by Bart Ehrman would certainly be on their burn list.

Am I the only one who thinks they're right on? I'm mean, if the KJV was good enough for Paul, it's good enough for me!

what??? And this is why people don't want to be more like Christ. One bad seed puts a bad name for all. I don't like this one bit..

Why is it that in two consecutive days you've attacked my bulletin article and my views on bibles? What's the deal Morgan?

Confession...I used to believe the KJV was the only....

How embarrassing from my own home state! The "pastor" is probably related to the 13 people that attend his church in some way. In small towns like that almost everyone is interconnected in some way.

Like an earlier commenter, I find it ironic the name of the church is "Amazing Grace" considering they look more like Pharisees in their judgment and condemnation of others. Maybe they should really prayerfully think about what grace means.

Whither for art thou dismayed at these that knoweth what thou dismisseth? Shouldest thou not lay hold of thine own letters of lawlessness and sumbit them to the test of fire. Knowest thou not that all thing are proved by fire, whether they be good or of evil?

That church must have a faction over here in Desoto County, MS. Saw a sticker on a car a few years back that said "If it ain't King James, it ain't bible."

Scott: nice one, you got me there for a second. tried to look it up on gateway but it sent me directly to a heretical website bashing apologetics. I still don't know what it says...can you translate it to NLT so my measly brain can understand what it iseth you art trying to sayeth. :)ha!

How sad. Nothing to do but pray for them. I know they mean well and believe they are doing good works but bless their hearts.

Ignorance is curable. In the words of Ron White, "you can't fix stupid...stupid is fooooreeeevver."

Hopefully they just suffer from ignorance, but we will see halloween night if there is a big glow in the sky over NC.

Probably ought to burn the KJV too, 'cause if I'm not mistaken, the original was written in Hebrew and Greek.

How absurd!

DEAD BODY ON A STIRRING!!!
Have You ever seen a Dead Body driving a Car ? Here is one,
There was a brother in the Lord who is a transpoter by profession, He carries passenger from Aba To Umuahia, He Knew what God did for us by sending Jesus to die for us all,
one day , just about a week and a half ago he went on his usual business, and as he was on his way carrying his paseengers, he ran into tthe men of under world, and the fired him some shots of bullets and they got both him and some of his passengers, some of his passengers died instantly right their in the bus , but he was seriously injured , when he found out that he was going to die , he never wanted to die on the high way, he incread his speed in other to save others that were injured,
when he got to a Federal medical Centre , he drove in and packed his bus and the accident and Emergency unit was informed and the driver quitly died just on the stirring, on a pool of blood,
He save others and died, a woman whom i work with a phermacist by profession was an eye witness , she was in the bus and her husband was one of those that died before the hospital,
have you seen a man that saved others and went to the world beyond,
Jesus Died for all, we some time do not feel it because it is just like a folk tales but this one happend among us, and we are now likening it with how one who was without sin sied for sinful world,
WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH JESUS??
HE COULD HAVE CALLED TEN THOUSAND SOLDIERS TO DESTROY THE WORLD AND SET HIM FREE, BUT HE DIED ALONE FOR YOU AND ME,
NOW DO YOU REMEBER THE YEARS YOU AND I SPENT IN VANITY AND PRIDE NOT EVEN REMEMBERING THAT OUR PRECIOUS SAVIOUR WAS CRUCIFIED , KNOWING NOT THAT IT WAS FOR US HE WENT TO CALVERY,
KNOW TODAY THAT YOUR BURDENS ARE LIFTED AT CALVERY, AND HE MY SAVIOR IS WAITING THEIR.
OH!!! WHAT A PRECIOUS SAVIOUR!!!!
So the Church in Question is not and will never be the church of Christ, so what do you expect?

Trey, they must have a branch here in Rogers. A large sign next to a small church read:

preaching? YES
song books? YES
King James? YES

It is this kind of stupidity that gives Christians and Christianity a bad name among the world. Stupidity is alive and well. I would like to go on and say that "Satanism" in the church is alive and well. I mean think about it...How many "christians" would be for burning the Bible. It sounds Satanic and Demonic.

At 4:24 PM, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Should I be sad? angry? or just simply laugh my butt off at this ignorance? I'll choose the latter. It's less stressful.
