What do you get when you put David Hasselhof, flying children, weiner dogs, a batman cape, and a good hooga-chakka in a music video? Quite possibly the strangest jaw dropping video ever seen!
What more could we ever ask for in a video?

Take 31 seconds to watch it! I absolutely loved this!

LOST is on tonight! Lots of people love the award winning television show Lost. The people of Oceanic Flight 815 have almost become household names. Lea loves loves the show too. I've tried hard to watch it with her and keep up with what's going on. Still the show has so many questions and so few answers. I've finally found a video that makes sense of how I feel about LOST! Who knows it may help catch you up with what's going on too? (Thanks to my friend David for pointing this video out to me.)
Are there any television shows you just can't get into?

Something about this powerful little video hit me right in the heart this morning.
I look around at our church and see children everywhere. I often think, "Someday, when these little ones get older God will use them to do powerful things in His kingdom." I needed to be reminded that He can do powerful things with them now!!

TEN THINGS I ENJOYED DOING THIS CHRISTMAS (just for Brian)
- Seeing my mom and dad.
- Playing card games.
- Relaxing.
- Turning off my cell phone.
- NOT eating fruitcake.
- Watching my boys open their presents.
- Playing in the snow.
- Hanging out in the mountains with 3 families from church.
- Learning to play Wii golf and Wii bowling.
- Blowing twenty bucks on a plastic sled and then having my friend Tommy pull me behind the car. Thirty minutes later the sled was torn to pieces.
Here's a little slide show of our Christmas fun.
Ten may be a little much, so what are three things you enjoyed about your Christmas holiday?

The debate rages on ... is it Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays? Or have you heard of Merry Tossmas? Trust me, you'll like this.

I'm still trying to sort out who I like and who I don't like when it comes to possible Presidential Candidates. I'm beginning to like Mike Huckabee more and more. Here are two reasons ...
VIDEO #1 - Chuck Norris (This made me laugh.)
VIDEO #2 - Evolution (A perfect response to a really stupid question.)
I was playing with Microsoft's Movie Maker and didn't realize how simple it was to make a video. So I made this for Lea. There are about 19 years that go by in this two minute video. You can probably tell which pictures are the old ones. I'll warn you upfront, it'll be a little sappy for some. But I'll also admit that I'm one whipped man over my girl!

Oh, and yes, the Christmas tree is up. You can click here for pictures of decorating the tree. Now if I could just get one of my nice neighbors (Zach) to help me get up the outside lights. ;)

A few things came to mind when I saw this video....
- If you're going to lead the singing, know the words.
- In this case I'm all for instruments in worship (it helped drowned out the singing - ha).
- Don't be drinking anything when you watch this video... you'll spew it all over your computer before it's over.
Enjoy...
PS - Want to have a little fun with us? We're raising some money for some people in need this weekend. So, if the holiday season moves you to share with someone in need ... here's a great place to share. Stop by and check it out. Please!

A while back Cooper and I were playing with our digital camera that will do little videos. So, when I was getting all my pictures off the camera yesterday, I found this ...

Four weeks ago I told about a box of goodies we sent Brandon & Katie who are missionaries in Ukraine. I had challenged my Sunday morning young adult bible class to help send a care package to them and the class came through with little over $100. Two weeks after we sent the package it was returned to me because the "customs" tag fell off so we went back to the post office and resent it. After four weeks of flying around the world, the package finally made it. Brandon and Katie posted a really neat video on their blog of going to get the package at the post office and opening it. You'll want to stop by there and watch it. Make sure you pay attention to the cat that walks into the post office. Also, one of the items blew up all over the box.

This growing phenomenon is having a direct impact on girls’ self-image and even causing some to engage in destructive behavior. The Dove Self-Esteem Fund/Seventeen Body Image Survey also revealed:
- 93 percent of girls and young women report feeling anxiety or stress about some aspect of their looks when getting ready in the morning
- This could explain why more than 70 percent of girls and young women avoid activities when they feel bad about their looks including giving their opinion, attending school and even going to the doctor.
- 76 percent of girls and young women admit to partaking in unhealthy activities when they feel badly about their bodies
- 58 percent of girls describe themselves in negative terms, including words like “disgusting” and “ugly,” when feeling badly about themselves.
- Nearly four out of 10 engage in unhealthy eating behaviors, such as anorexia or bulimia.
- More than one out of 10 girls has used cutting or self-inflicted injury as a coping mechanism.
- The average person sees between 400 and 600 advertisements per day - equivalent to more than one message for every waking minute.
- The average US girl has the opportunity to see an estimated 77,546 commercials by the time she is 12 years old.
For more on this see CNN's article about this called: "Pressure to Look Perfect Drives Girls to Destructive Behavior"

I don't know about you, but the above stats make me sick to my stomach.

Ran across this video again yesterday. It reminded me that this is still one of the most powerful videos I've ever seen on being a good role model for our children.
What are your kids learning from you?
You've heard of the 23rd Psalm from the KJV or NIV. This is the 23rd Psalm from the "sweet" or "precious" version.
Then he said to them, "I can guarantee this truth: Unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven."
~Jesus
A new tool called Baby Signs is helping babies learn to communicate with sign language before they can talk. The video below is a 13 month old little girl who is learning to read.
Do not underestimate the learning potential of your baby or the babies in your children's ministry at church. From this video I see two important lessons:
- A child is never too young to start learning about God.
- Fill your home and church nurseries with items that teach about God.

The church is full of "the guy on the left." What we need is more of "the guy on the right."
Which one are you?
You know - our world needs more huggers. Most of us respond more quickly to encouragement and affirmation than we do put-downs and intimidation. If I understand the Bible correctly, the church is to be a place where people affirm, encourage, and support each other – spiritual hugging.
In today’s world we place so much emphasis on winning that we overlook people who are doing their best. The reward of personal satisfaction doesn’t always go to the best but to the one who does his best. Have you given a “hug” lately to someone who simply participated and did his or her best?
The church is known for a lot of things, both good and bad. I think it would be great if the church was known as a “hugging” place? The church ought to be the most encouraging place in the world.
I saw this video recently about hugging that was taken on the streets of Hollywood, California. The video is great and the music is cool too. Check it out when you have time. It will make you smile.
